Staring Out to See

For some reason, towards the end of winter 2015, I started walking or driving repeatedly to the waterfront in Red Hook from my studio (then in Gowanus). The wind and cold necessitated a certain kind of painting that carried through into spring, becoming a search for the presence of distance.
